How to Claim a Prize

The method to claim your winnings varies based on the prize amount. You must have the original ticket to claim your prize. For security, please sign the back of your winning ticket and safeguard it, as it serves as a bearer document.

Scratch-Off Tickets

Winning draw game tickets expire one year from the date of the draw.

$600 and Below in One Ticket

If your prize is up to and including $600:

Choices for Claiming Your Prize:

Redeem it at any authorized New York Lottery retail outlet.
Book a meeting at one of the Lottery's Customer Service Centers.
Send it through postal service to the Lottery.

$601 and Above in One Ticket

Options

- Schedule an appointment and claim your prize at one of the Lottery’s Customer Service Centers. Appointment is required to claim prize.

- Redeem at a local Prize Claim Center. Appointment is not required to claim prize.

- Mail it to the Lottery

What you need

To redeem your prize, you will need to provide

Your winning ticket
A filled-out Winner Claim Form
A valid government-issued ID
A valid Social Security Number or FEIN

$600 and Below in Multi Ticket

If your prize is up to and including $600 in multi tickets.Ex: $500 x 8 Tickets = $4000

Choices for Claiming Your Prize:

Call In any authorized New York Lottery retail outlet, ask for funds availability before come to the retail.
Book a meeting at one of the Lottery's Customer Service Centers.
Send it through postal service to the Lottery.

To claim your prize at a Lottery Customer Service Center, it's necessary to schedule an appointment, as walk-ins cannot be served currently.

For prizes of $600 and below, complete Steps 1 to 11 on the Winner Claim Form, and bring a valid, current government-issued photo ID along with your winning ticket.

Accepted forms of photo ID are:

US/Foreign Passport
Driver License or Non-Driver ID
Driver Learner Permit
Government ID
Certificate of Naturalization
Certificate of Citizenship
Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
Birth Certificate and a form of photo ID with name
US Military ID
Social Security Card or Federal Taxpayer ID Certification must be presented with these forms of ID.
New York City ID
New York State Benefit ID Card
MTA Reduced Fare MetroCard

For prizes of $601 or more, you are required to complete the full Winner Claim Form, which includes providing your Social Security Number, TIN, or FEIN. Additionally, you must bring a valid, current government-issued photo ID and your winning ticket for the claim.

Your claim will be processed immediately on-site, except if your prize is a Jackpot win, a Mega Millions prize exceeding $500,000, or a Powerball prize of $50,000 or more. These particular claims will be forwarded to the Lottery's Schenectady office for processing.

It's advisable to make copies of both your Winner Claim Form and winning ticket and keep them until you have received your prize

Lottery Customer Service and Other Prize Claim Centers

The Lottery Customer Service Centers are open by appointment only, no appointment needed at casinos. Must be 21+ to claim at casinos. Only 30 tickets can be cashed per appointment at Lottery Customer Service Centers. Players may leave additional tickets for processing.
